About the Command Staff
The Chesterfield Township Fire Department operates within the Chesterfield Township Department of Public Safety. Director of Public Safety Brian D. Bassett oversees both the police and fire departments and the shared Dispatch Center, and Fire Chief Craig Miller directs day-to-day fire operations, the Fire Prevention Bureau and the township's emergency management.
Battalion Chiefs command the department's three 24-hour shifts and act as officer-in-charge on emergency scenes, and Lieutenants serve as company officers. The command staff are ICS and Blue Card trained and certified.
