About the Friends of Chesterfield Local Fire Department
The Friends of Chesterfield Local Fire Department (FOCLFD) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 2024 to celebrate and support the Chesterfield Township Fire Department while building a stronger sense of community. Built by the community, for the community, it supports the department through events, partnerships and fundraisers that recognize firefighters' contributions and strengthen local bonds.
Board members include Mary Damm, Katie Elsesser, Justin Johnson, Edward Sacharski and Nathan McKee.

How It Started
The Voice introduced the new non-profit to the community in July 2024 under the headline “New nonprofit working to support Chesterfield Township firefighters.” Its first event followed that August: Beat the Heat, an ice cream social where residents met their firefighters and picked up the first Friends t-shirts. That same year the Friends met residents at Cheers to Chesterfield and contributed to the fun at the 2024 Junior Public Safety Academy.
