About the Fire Safety Education

Chesterfield Township's suppression crews make visits to classrooms within the township at the request of teachers, instructing the township's youngest residents on basic fire safety.

The department's fire safety house trailer lets children practise recognising smoke and getting out of a house safely, and it appears at the annual Open House and community events. Visits are part of the department's wider Community Risk Reduction program.

The 2025-2030 Strategic Plan commits the department to growing this work, with a dedicated Public Educator position and a Public Education Team of members who routinely take part in public education.

Requesting a Visit

  • Call the fire department at (586) 725-2233
  • Tell us the school, the age group and the dates that suit you
